Who is in your mommy playgroup?

The dynamic of mommy playgroups are interesting. I sometimes sit quiet in the group and think about what each of these moms must have been like in high school. You have all the personalities there and it just feels familiar.

There is the cheerleader; always happily cheering on her kids about the smallest of things with her hair and makeup flawless. Everyone is still secretly jealous of her. Does she really think we all believe her life is as perfect as she makes it out to be?!?

There is the class president; the one that is leading the group without anyone electing her. She is the one who always has ideas for new playgroups and is great at organizing anything. Anyone would be lucky to have her help with thier kid's birthday party; her parties are always the best.

There is the slacker; always late, never brings enough baby wipes, and has her kid bumming off everyone for snacks. She is nice to be around only because she really doesn't cause any waves. There is a part of you that even feels bad for her...is she not getting any sleep at home? We have all been there at one time or another.

Then, there is the jock; she is always wearing her workout clothes from her 8am yoga class until she picks up her kids after school at 3pm. I always hate being reminded of how much I am NOT working out.

As funny as it might be to categorize each of the moms, it is even funnier to know that at some point you may become exactly like them. There are tons of brainy parents who end up cheering on thier kids at soccer practice. Never count any of the moms out - they might just be your best resource!!
